We seem to be having some “serious” issues with caring for plants in our family… On the weekend, we received a beautiful Gerber Daisy as an event favor. Mine is the most gorgeous salmon color. About half way home she no longer looked so good - her blooms were bent over and her leaves were wilting. What could be done at 70 miles an hour?... Do you remember playing with a straw when you were young? Sucking water into it and then covering the end with your finger… It almost works with a water bottle straw, but you only get about half a teaspoon of water. For my second attempt, I made my sweetie promise not to hit any bumps as I unscrewed the top of my water bottle to give the flower a bigger drink. He did as asked - too bad I didn’t ask him to not speed up quickly… I managed to water the flower, my leg, my shoes,... You’ll be happy to hear I dried out before I had to step out of the car, and the flower is quite healthy now and brightening a spot on my counter.

Wishing you beautiful blooms to brighten your week,

Mary Beth
