Youngest was standing in a store, her airpods in place, when they read a text to her. “A $580.00 charge has been made with your bank card”. The text was complete with a link to confirm the charge was correct… Panic set in, even so, she didn’t click on anything in the text, but rather scurried back to her apartment to check her account. Nothing strange showed, so her next step was to try to contact the bank. When she had no luck with that effort, she decided to take another look at the text. The advice she wants to share - bank text fraud is rampant! You can be pretty certain the texts are a scam if words are misspelled - words like “you”, which was spelled incorrectly in the one she received!

I’m thinking about only looking at texts from family and quilting buddies. How about you?

Fingers crossed your week is scam free,

Mary Beth

Those in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler group will enjoy their second session this Saturday (2-22-25) at 9:00am. We will share news from the shop, and then we will pass out the second block in the series and share lots more technique information. Be sure to bring your block from last month for show and tell. If you show your block at the meeting your next kit is our gift!!!

Also this Saturday, our Stash Management Club will meet at 10:30am. The session will be packed with show and tell, and sewing space organization tips. We will also share a pattern that will help you put a dent in your fabric collection. This time the pieced design can be worked with fat quarters from your stash, or 2 1/2” strips, or even 2 1/2” squares you’ve been saving…

New - 2025 Simple Whatnots Club!

Thursday ~ February 27th ~ 10:30am

Each year we are amazed by the magnificent small projects Kim Diehl designs for her Simple Whatnots Club. The eight quilts in the 2025 series are fantastic! Each of the petite projects is created with her new Scrap Basket Favorites fabric collection. The quilts range in size from 13” x 27” to 24” x 24” - actually, a bit larger than some of the quilts from past years! The first session will see us working on Early Bird. We will share pointers for planning and organizing for the project, and ideas for working with the small triangles that make up much of the design. We have found working these small projects to be one of the best ways to learn to accurately piece!

Fee $6.00 per session (includes pattern and instruction - fabric kit information will be shared during the first session), pre-registration required

Fabric ~  Scrap Basket Favorites $12.80 per yard

QC Sew In!

Friday ~ February 28th ~ 10:30am-3:30pm

We spent the last day of February last year hosting a shop Sew In - requests poured in soon after for a 2025 version! We would love to have you join us on Friday for this year's Sew In - a day of uninterrupted stitching! Well ok, the day will definitely be interrupted by laughter and snacks! You bring a project (and the supplies you need to work on the project) and your lunch, we provide snacks, other treats of the “quilty” variety, and someone to answer questions as you stitch. Truly a terrific way to spend a day!

Fee $25.00 (see your QC date book for an amazing coupon related to this event!) - please pre-register soon as there are only two spaces left for the event

It’s amazing how quickly the days fly by! Can you believe you only have a few days left to vote in the ByAnnie’s favorite quilt shop contest?! We would love to have your vote - for several reasons - there are prizes to be won, which would be shared with everyone, and because we love reading the stories you share when you vote! Remember, while you can only vote once, your family and friends can vote, too! Use the qr code found in the shop or head to www.LQSContest.com/vote to place your vote, and most importantly, thank you!!!

I have to admit, I’m wishing winter away, hoping for spring every day… The newest fabric collection from Andover, Meadow Walk, shares a peek at what spring will bring. The main prints, featuring delicate line drawings of flowers, leaves, and buds, are presented on a pale mint color background. The artwork on the tone on tone coordinates is just as delicate, worked in perfect coordinating colors of plum, pink and gold. You can almost feel the warmth of spring as you look at these beauties!

Fabric $13.00 per yard See these online...

Congratulations to Nancy T. on her win of the first prize drawing!
