One day last weekend, we spent the early morning hours shopping. The chain store we were in was packed with people, lots of big family groups. Surprisingly, everyone was very pleasant. When a woman became separated from her friend, she tried an age-old technique to find them - yelling “Marco!”... Looking down, giggling, I whispered “Polo”, as at least twenty others yelled “Polo”! The woman tried a second time, adding a name to the call. By then just about everyone was laughing… I’m fairly certain she reunited with her companion, a good outcome, but maybe even better was the lighthearted moment she provided for a whole bunch of people!
Hoping you experience a bit of laughter, and true joy during the holidays,
Mary Beth

We are offering the elegant 63” x 81” quilt in the neutral colorway - which includes batik prints in rich cream, taupe, gray and brown. For the project, which begins in January, Scott has taken the concept of a row by row sampler and given it a modern bent. The diagonal layout is truly fabulous!

Foundation Pieced
Block of the Week!
At Quilt Market I make an effort to find things that are both new and different - things you might like to try. A nifty new item, pads of foundation piecing papers, reminded me of the block of the week we enjoyed at the beginning of last year. The designer shared that she intends for those working with the papers to cut into their scraps for the fifty included blocks - perfect block of the week candidate! In fact, how about two blocks per week?! Our program will begin with an introductory meeting on January 18th at 1:00pm. We will cover selecting fabrics for the project, and two different foundation piecing methods (Bonnie has also scheduled a separate class for the method she is sharing - see info below). We will also hold two additional sessions during the program, and share little prizes as we go along!
Fee ~ $22.00 (includes meetings, foundation paper pad, and 1/2 yard of inspiration fabric, your choice, to get you started!)

Northcott’s new City Harbor fabric collection greets you as you enter the shop at the moment. The sophisticated artwork of the group is worked in blues, grays and whites. The prints include sailboats at rest in a harbor with city buildings in the background, subtle tone on tone street maps, a print featuring stylized buildings, and several other prints with a watercolor look. The panel print could be the center of a simple, quick, yet elegant project, while the other prints would be perfect for a more intricate pieced creation. These are definitely going to find their way into my collection!
Fabric $13.30 per yard

Heather stitched M&S Textiles Aboriginal prints, selected by Jill, into a marvelous version of Villa Rosa’s new Kingpin pattern. True to form, a shipment of new M&S prints arrived eight hours after Heather completed the piece! Both the prints and Kingpin are worth a look, in fact the prints and piece are terrific!
