The young women in our family decided to go out to dinner last night. Well actually, they decided to pick up take out and head to the park to enjoy a peaceful meal. If only it had still been light out (whose idea is daylight savings time anyway?!). As they walked along in the dark, youngest heard footsteps behind them. She wasn’t wearing her glasses so she had her sister turn to check out who was creeping up on them. Turns out it wasn’t who, but rather what… A deer, complete with rack, was moseying along directly behind them. There are some experiences you just don’t get in a city - I figure at this point they’re both considering a move downtown!

Wishing you a week of delightful surprises,

Mary Beth

Tilda Sanctuary Trunk Show at QC!

November 7th - 19th

Tilda's exquisite Sanctuary fabric collection arrived several weeks ago. Every single print in the group is wonderful. Now you can see the pieces used as Tilda intends - in the samples they made from the group! From houses, to little birds, to sewing notions and machines, each model harks to where you might find sanctuary. Head to tildasworld.com to see the patterns and head to the shop to take a close up look at the pieces - wait until you see the quilting on them!!!

Our 2024 From Our Table displays are in place. There are sixteen displays to enjoy this year, each featuring the sewing and accent pieces coordinated by your friends that work in the shop! Be sure to visit during the coming week, as the event ends Saturday the 16th. If you bring donations for the local food pantry when you visit, you will have the chance to vote for your favorite display. Who knows - you may even win a kit for one of the event favorites!

QC 2024 Holiday Block Box!

I loved the Advent calendars a relative gave us each year when I was a child. The excitement of opening a little treat each day in December, as we approached Christmas, just couldn’t be beat. And yes, I waited to open a new little door each day (I swear I didn’t even think to open them all at once - I wonder what that says about me…). We are busy making petite boxes that might just help you recapture that joy, but with a quilty bent. The box, ready for pick up the day after Thanksgiving, contains twenty four little packets. Each packet has a pattern and foreground fabric for a 4” x 4” pieced block, and a little treat. Some of the treats are sweet, others will help you with your quilting, and some will share directions for additional projects (we would hate for you to be bored!). At the very back of the box you will find setting directions, but of course you can use your tiny blocks however you wish! We will begin taking pre-paid orders today. Please order soon - they go very quickly!  $39.95

QC Fall Market Party

Saturday ~ December 7th

Market Lecture ~ 11:00am

A quick trip to Houston for fall Quilt Market has left us with loads of ideas for new projects, shop samples, and events! By the first week in December we will have many of the new goodies in place. It will be well worth a trip to see what is new in the quilting world (consider pre-registering for the lecture - it’s great fun to see pictures of the Houston displays). There will be little goodies shared, and tons of inspiration - hope you can make it!

There are new fabric collections everywhere in the shop. Think Tula, Tilda, a rainbow of textured batiks, and so much more, but I thought I should make a quick mention of something completely different. We have managed to get a small order of handmade baskets. The pieces, each made by a woman in Ghana, are practical, but even more important, so very beautiful. They make fantastic gifts - the selection is best now…
