This Saturday (10-19-24) those in our applique Saturday Sampler session will meet at 9:00am. We will share shop news, the next kit in the series, and a bit of instruction. Discussion about the next bold bloom will be accompanied by a further discussion of the pieced setting designed for the quilt. I so enjoy looking out on the sea of “Wild Flowers” each month - don’t forget to bring your block to show! 

Claudia Porter ~ Island Batik Trunk Show at QC!

Saturday ~ October 19th ~ 11:00am

We are excited to be welcoming Island Batik Brand Ambassador, and pattern designer, Claudia Porter to the shop! She will be sharing a look at her pattern collection (she’ll bring the actual quilts featured on the pattern covers!), and she will tell us about working with Island Batiks (one of our favorite companies) and about her new curated batik fabric collection! The collection, Twilight, has just arrived! The hand printed designs, in rich blue and gold, are exquisite! Wait until you see what she has done with them!!! Please pre-register as soon as possible.

Fee $15.00 (at the end of the session you will receive a coupon for a free yard of Island Batik fabric, and an entry in a drawing for a group of her patterns!)

Secret Spooky Sale!

October 19th to 26th 

Our Secret Spooky Sale starts this Saturday! Ok, it won’t be too very secret… All you will need to do is check the bottoms of the cute little pumpkins to find out how much each Halloween print collection is discounted. They will be from 20% to 40% off!!! Talk about a treat!!!  Needless to say, there will be a wider selection earlier in the sale.

Thank you so much for your contributions to our hurricane relief effort. Your most generous donations to the North Carolina Disaster Relief fund were put in the mail today. We’ve just learned of another opportunity to help with hurricane response. One of our friends, one who visited Asheville just a week and a half before the hurricane hit, has been in touch with a regional North Carolina quilt guild. The guild plans to take new quilts, blankets, and pillowcases to those in the affected area in the coming weeks. Our friend is willing to take these items to North Carolina if you can get them to the shop by October 22nd. I realize this is short notice, but you may have something you wish to send…

Class ~ Mystery Table Runner

Saturday ~ October 26th ~ 12:00pm-3:30pm

Do you have a charm pack languishing in your sewing space? Maybe it includes fall prints, or holiday prints, or who knows what! Consider pulling your favorite one from the pile for a mystery runner. During the session you will work secret step by secret step to create a 12 1/2” x 40 1/2” runner (of course the option exists to make the runner longer or shorter if you choose). Work on perfecting your cutting and piecing skills as the mystery reveals itself over the course of the afternoon!

Fee $29.00 (pattern included in fee - supply list will be shared when you register)
