Dear Friends,
I don’t think I mentioned our family’s four year olds' observation that a bolt of fabric was out of place when we visited a quilt shop near his house several weeks ago. Actually, he asked if it was out of place, and it was. The question left me wondering why he noticed. During his visit to our house this week he climbed up on a chair, paper in hand, asking for the huge box of art supplies. When he was settled, I asked what he planned to draw. A rainbow was his response. Next I asked which color he wanted to start with. His reply was red, and he then spent a minute selecting exactly the red he wanted. I then asked which color he was going to use next. Orange was his reply. When he finished the orange he gave me a concerned glance when I asked which color he would select next. When he reached for the yellow I realized he was trying to decide why I didn’t know what came next… We did have a discussion about exactly what shades indigo and violet are. As I thought back, I realized bolts in the shop several weeks ago were in rainbow order, except for one - again, when do you think he’ll be old enough to help in the shop?!
Wishing you a week filled with a rainbow of glorious color,
Mary Beth
