On Saturday (6-22-24) those in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler group will meet at 9:00am. We will take a look at new things that have arrived in the shop and share information about upcoming events, and then we will move on to the new block. You won’t be surprised to hear, the new block is made up of lots of triangles - I figure everyone is getting pretty good at piecing them at this point! Don’t forget to bring your completed block from last month so you receive this kit as our gift!

Also on Saturday, we will be hosting the next Stash Management Club meeting. As usual, the session will be packed with ideas, and lots of giggles. We will share show and tell (things made with goodies in our stash), organizing tips, and a new pattern that will help us use the fabrics in our collections. We would love to have you join us!

Comfort Cases Project ~ Thank You Reception!

Your support of the April Comfort Cases effort was truly exceptional. By the time we left for Maryland, we had 85 quilts that will find their way into backpacks given to children entering the foster care system! Everyone that supported the effort is invited to join us at the reception on the 22nd (yes, that means those that made quilts, those that helped their friends make quilts, those that donated toiletries or adorable tiny stuffed animals, and those that made a monetary contribution!). I can’t believe the beginning of the All Mid Atlantic Shop Hop is just a week away! We are busy getting samples made with the exclusive hop fabric collection and thought you might like a sneak peek!

We have added patch pockets, created with the hop panel print, to the front and back of a version of our Earth Day Tote. I love how the cotton/linen canvas stripe looks with the pockets made from the panel. I used the red, but we also have gold and navy versions of the fabric - they all go perfectly with the commemorative fabric!

We’ve fallen in love with the Wire Frame Carry Case pattern. The Zakka Workshop design features wire frames that allow the petite pouch to open wide for easy access to its contents. The pattern includes directions, the wire frames, and a zipper for one 6” wide x 5” tall x 4” deep pouch. The instructions are clearly written and illustrated, making this a fast and fun bag to create. In fact, it was so much fun I made one with the flower print from the hop fabric collection and another featuring the little commemorative square you will receive at our shop during your hop!

We have another trunk show in place (well, almost in place - two more pieces to hang tomorrow!). This time the cute sampler quilts are from a new company we discovered at the H&H trade show last month. Each delightful sampler features a row of six pieced blocks, with a stack of strips on each side. Stitch all the different blocks, or make a row of a single design - either way they are adorable. The instructions for each 48” x 58” quilt begin with cutting directions for each pieced block, and then move on to illustrated piecing directions. Select a new fabric group to work with (maybe one of the new Christmas groups!) or work with pieces you have in your collection - in both cases, the results will be wonderful!
