Greetings!

I didn’t quite finish picking up from our Pins and Needles day before leaving the shop on Friday. In fact, the little pile of unique, new things was still sitting on the fat quarter display an hour into Saturday morning… Things didn’t go smoothly as I swooped up the pile, giving Lizzi and I a chance to discover all the features of the new Magic Pins... So, there are far more pins in the package than we thought, they are very fine and very sharp, they are both easy to see, and yes, very easy to grab (all traits discovered as we picked up the ones scattered in an arc on the carpet!) One caution though - you might want to put them in a pincushion - the little box opens right up when it hits the floor!

I hope you have had a week of fun little discoveries (that didn’t require crawling around on the floor!),

We have been planning a major overhaul of the shop website for quite some time. As it turns out - now’s the time! It will take several weeks to get everything in place (and I am sorry, the website will be unavailable during this time), but it will be worth the wait. The new site will look nothing like the old - can’t wait for you to see! We will let you know the minute we are back up and running!
This Saturday, December 5th, we will have meeting packets ready for those registered for our pieced Saturday Sampler program, and for those in our Halloween Figs Sampler group. The packets this time include information about the pieces you are currently working on, and a little info about projects for 2021. Be sure to take a quick look at the info if you want a head start on registration for next year. The programs fill very quickly, and will be shared with everyone in the coming week!
You will find holiday displays throughout the shop now. Whimsical prints greet you straight ahead as you enter, Tula is to your left, Zen Chic and others to your right, and more are by the cutting table!!! This year seems to call for meaningful handmade gifts, and there are still plenty of marvelous fabric choices to help you make that happen!
Yes, we are offering a 2021 version of our incredible Snow Day Surprise project! Watch your email for details in the very near future!
I’ve just started some new holiday pieces, both inspired by ones staff members made for our From Our Table event. Will I finish them in time for Christmas? It’s hard to say, but I will enjoy all the little moments spent working on these two! Maybe you would enjoy making them, too?

Chris made the exquisite table setting on the side counter during From Our Table (Jamie beat her by one vote for favorite this year!). Her holiday version of “Charming Pineapple Star” is a show stopper! The little quilt (27” x 27”) is made with a charm pack, 1/4 yard of background, and 1/8 yard for binding. The charm pack Chris selected made for a far more colorful piece than the one shown on the pattern front - it worked incredibly well! The directions share a wonderful way to create the intricate looking stars - they are nowhere near as difficult as they appear! Clear black and white illustrations, and concise instructions will have you stitching in no time. At just $6.50, this pattern is a bargain!Bonnie’s version of Glazed Donuts is wonderful. The combination of holiday fabrics (batiks and a glittery silver piece!), and decorative stitch quilting is stunning! She made a single “donut” using the information in Jaybird’s well written and illustrated pattern. The intricate pieces that make up the topper look like they would be a challenge to cut and stitch, but with the help of the Hex N More ruler it’s actually great fun to make! Pattern $10.00

You may have noticed that I no longer tell you when new things are scheduled to arrive. As you might expect, it is because fabric shipments continue to be impacted by all that is going on in the world. As I think of all of you, I also keep in mind all of the people who work to bring us the beautiful goodies we share - may everyone remain safe.

That being said, several wonderful new collections just arrived - here are just two ~
Bittersweet Lane is new from Kansas Troubles. The small scale prints in deep reds and blues will coordinate with other prints you have from them, and will go great with one color option for next year’s Saturday Sampler pieced quilt! They’re so versatile you can sneak them into every historic style quilt you make! Fabric $11.99 per yard
Be sure to take a look at Journey, new from Northcott, when you next visit. The spectacular prints are hard to describe - maybe best to say they are an elegant take on stone, bubbles, and a world map. That doesn’t sound very tempting, but the ivory, teal, tan, gold and deep gray prints are not to be missed! Fabric $12.80 per yard, panel $8.75 each
Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday. All state and federal guidelines are being followed - a mask is required to shop inside, hand sanitizer is provided just inside the door, social distancing rules are being followed, and there is not a restroom available. All in all - we are glad to operate with these restrictions in order to welcome you into the shop.
