Greetings!

My, this week has flown by! It seems like only yesterday we were driving north in the evening when the most amazing full moon peeked over the horizon (I guess that would have been last Friday). It was huge (one of my favorite optical illusions!), and orange! After enjoying the site for a minute, my next thought was to take a photo… Ok, moving car, hills and curves, and lots of direction from the driver - not one photo was anything like the amazing site. I put my phone down and just enjoyed the incredible view. It made me realize it might be time to stop and enjoy other sites - the fog in the early morning, the last leaves on the trees,... Maybe most important, it might be time to look around and really enjoy my sewing space, and yes, that includes the started projects that may, or may not, get finished!
I hope you have some time in the coming week to stop and look around - to realize there is beauty where you least expect it.

Happy stitching,
Mary Beth
Oh my goodness, there is so much happening here on the 7th! Our Holiday Open House (with it’s gifts and displays) and the opening day of our 2020 From Our Table displays (don’t forget your food pantry donations) should provide lots of new things for you to see! We are finishing up the displays today, can’t wait to welcome you tomorrow!

Please be careful to follow all the health guidelines when you are here Saturday (it’s easy to forget just how far apart 6 feet really is…).
This Saturday, November 7th, those registered will be able to pick up their current packet for our Saturday Sampler pieced program (the kits are free on Saturday if you bring last month’s completed block to show) and the Halloween Figs sampler. We have so much fun making spectacular quilts in this manner, we are hard at work finding new designs for next year’s block-of-the-month programs! I know things aren’t working “as usual”, but I hope you are still enjoying stitching the current pieces, and are ready for new ones (details soon!).
We just unpacked bolts from Robin Pickens newest group, Solana. Robin shares solana is the Spanish word for “the sunny side” of a mountain or valley. She had no idea when she designed the line just how important a bit of sunny, happy and optimistic inspiration we might need as the line is released… You will find a rural hillside, bold sunflowers, tiny ladybugs and tone-on-tone prints in bright green, gold, orange and turquoise in the collection. This warm sunny fall day may be just the right moment to stop in our valley for a most cheerful addition to your collection!
Fabric $11.99 per yard
I realize our display of Villa Rosa pattern cards can be a “tad” overwhelming, but it’s well worth a look. Several new ones arrived in the last week. All the information you need for a project shown on the front of the card, is given on the back. In most cases, the projects really show off your fabric selection, and are easy to construct. I think Giggles and Leaf are my favorite new designs. Each is constructed from charm squares and background (you might have some of those just waiting to be used!). Some of our friends store their Villa Rosa pattern collection on rings (after punching a small hole in the corner of each), while others use sheet protectors and notebooks - no matter how you store them, the collection will be a source of inspiration (perfect for charitable pieces or quick gifts!).
Patterns $2.00
New issue of Block magazine arrived yesterday! You need this one - if not for the articles, tips, and 10 project patterns, then because one of those patterns is for a new way to use the pieces made from Disappearing Pinwheel blocks! Yup, they’ve done it - how about trying the Deconstructed Disappearing Pinwheel Quilt? The projects in the issue can be made efficiently, most starting with pre-cuts, there may even be time to finish some of them as holiday gifts!
Magazine $7.99
We have been planning a major overhaul of the shop website for quite some time. As it turns out - now’s the time! It will take several weeks to get everything in place (and I am sorry, the website will be unavailable during this time), but it will be worth the wait. The new site will look nothing like the old - can’t wait for you to see! We will let you know the minute we are back up and running!
Please note ~ Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday. All state and federal guidelines are being followed - a mask is required to shop inside, hand sanitizer is provided just inside the door, social distancing rules are being followed, and there is not a restroom available. All in all - we are glad to operate with these restrictions in order to welcome you into the shop.
