Greetings!

I think you’ll be glad you weren’t the first guest through the shop door today. Two of your favorite staff members headed through the front door before realizing neither had on their glasses… You might wonder, how bad could that be - very! They got to explain to the nice lady from the alarm company that they couldn’t see the numbers on the keypad - she started her day with a good giggle, while they started with a piercing noise that let everyone in the neighborhood know we had arrived! I hope your day started peacefully and quietly, and I wish you the same for tomorrow, and the next day,...

See you soon,
Mary Beth
We have been planning a major overhaul of the shop website for quite some time. As it turns out - now’s the time! It will take several weeks to get everything in place (and I am sorry, the website will be unavailable during this time), but it will be worth the wait. The new site will look nothing like the old - can’t wait for you to see! We will let you know the minute we are back up and running!
Are you busy getting ready for Halloween? Would a little more fabric, at a great price, be helpful (or just plain old fun to have)?  When you visit this Friday and Saturday, October 30th and 31st, you will find a tray of pre-cut, 1 yard pieces of Halloween prints priced at $10.95 each, or $5.95 each if you purchase three or more pieces! At the moment the tray holds some spooky, some sweet - we’ll do our best to keep it full!

Also very important - as usual, we will have shortened hours on Halloween so staff members can get home before the little ghosts and goblins start their rounds. Store hours this Saturday - 10:00am-3:00pm!!!
On Saturday (October 31st) those in our Simple Whatnots Club will be able to pick up their October club packets. Your packet will include the Esther’s Garden Box pattern, the last installment of the large sampler project if you are working on this piece, and kits for each if you pre-ordered them. You will also find a club letter covering shop news, news about next year’s club projects, and tips for creating the current projects. Lots of goodies for one packet!!!
We are holding our annual QC Holiday Open House on November 7th this year. While we won’t be able to do things like “usual”, it will still be an enjoyable affair. Plans are in the works for holiday project displays, there will be a free little holiday gift bag pattern sheet for you, as well as a 2021 QC date book as our gift to you that day (date books will be available for $1.99 each after the 7th - while supplies last). I wish we could share cookies and treats, but some things just won’t work...
We were very excited to open boxes on Monday evening - they were packed with Tula’s newest collection! Tula has always loved the sketches, complete with notes and eraser marks, that eventually become her finished fabric lines. This time you get to see them - it’s like a peek into her thoughts! Tula shares that Linework is her best attempt to create a black and white collection, but as you might expect, a bit of color has crept in! We currently have all 13 prints, the backing and the different pre-cuts in the group. I’m sure they won’t be here long - stop in soon to snag yours!
Fabric $11.90 per yard, backing fabric $23.90 per yard, 5” square pack $14.00, 10” square pack $40.00, 2 ½” strip roll $40.00
While looking for ideas for my From Our Table displays, I happened on a wonderful new book. “Quilts You Can Make in a Day” features 14 projects that can be completed quickly, yet look fabulous. As the introduction says, “there are only so many hours available for doing the things we love”, and these projects will make the most of those hours! As you turn the pages you will find patterns for pieced runners, small quilts, and larger quilts that will show off the fabrics you love. The directions are clearly written and illustrated, and complemented by bold photos. I plan to begin Cut-Jewels tonight, and Monochromatic tomorrow! This book is well worth a look!
Book $9.99
Please note ~ Our shop hours are currently 10:00am-4:00pm, Monday through Saturday. All state and federal guidelines are being followed - a mask is required to shop inside, hand sanitizer is provided just inside the door, social distancing rules are being followed, and there is not a restroom available. All in all - we are glad to operate with these restrictions in order to welcome you into the shop.
